I have obtained a Ph.D. degree in Statistics at the Department of Statistics of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2008 under the guidance of Professor Ernesto San Martín and Professor Reinaldo Arellano-Valle, with the Thesis: “Skew-normal distributions: Identifiability, Reduction and Bayesian approach of shape mixtures”.


Also, I have completed an undergraduate program in Statistics and Computer Science at Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (Lima—Perú). I worked for many years in several companies of Perú related with market and statistical research.


I have worked at the Department of Statistics of Universidad de Concepción as an Associate Professor for almost 10 years.


Now, I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

-Starting August 1, 2020, I am the Faculty Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Facultad de Matemáticas, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.



Old news:


-Since July 26, 2019, I am a member of the Study Group of Mathematics at Fondo Nacional de Desarrollo Científico y Tecnológico (FONDECYT) Chile.


-Since March 20, 2019, I am a member of the Mathematics and Statistics Area Committee  at Comisión Nacional de Acreditación (CNA) Chile.


-In January 1st, 2018, I have started my second period as the President of the Statistical Chilean Society (SOCHE) (term 2018 - 2019).


-Starting August 1st, 2017, I am an Associate Professor at Department of Statistics of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.


-Starting January 1st, 2016, I am the President of the Statistical Chilean Society (SOCHE) (term 2016 - 2017).

-August 24, 2015, I am an Associate Researcher at CI2MA of Universidad de Concepción, Chile (term 2015-2017).

-January 26, 2015, I am a Visiting Professor at Sección de Matemáticas of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (term 2015-2016).

-Starting September 1st, 2013 I am a Visiting Professor at Instituto de Matemática, Estatística e Computação Cientítifica of Universidade Estadual de Campinas in Brazil (term 2013-2014).
